In the 2024 Lok Sabha elections, the Trinamool Congress (TMC) secured a strong victory by winning 29 out of 42 seats. The BJP managed to win 12 seats, while Congress got only one. TMC’s win was driven by popular welfare schemes and strong support from the Muslim community. Despite multiple rallies by Prime Minister Modi, the BJP saw a slight decline from its previous performance. The results clearly showed that Mamata Banerjee’s TMC continues to hold a strong influence in the state.
2024 Assembly elections, Y. S. Jagan Mohan Reddy, the incumbent Chief Minister and leader of the YSR Congress Party (YSRCP), faced a major electoral setback.
